OSINT [ Open Source Intelligence ]

OSINT is all about gathering and making sense of information that’s out there for anyone to access. This includes stuff like websites, social media, news, public records, and government reports. The goal is to learn things and understand what’s happening by looking at what’s already available to the public.

The OSINT tools will help us to gather this information about anything we want, like people or organizations, or anything we search for.

Some of these tools are :

1-Search Engines:

  • Using Google search engine, Google Dorks, and Google Maps.

  • Using Bing Search engine

  • Using Yandex & DuckDuckGo

2- Social Media:

  • Using Facebook or Instagram, any social media platform.

3- Website:

  • WHOIS Lookup [ find domain registration information ].

  • Wayback Machine [ Allows us to see the website we want across the years ].

4- Email and Domains:

  • Hunter.io -> Allows you to find email addresses associated with a domain.

  • theHarvester [a tool that allows us to find and search from email for a website ].
